puzzle book
A puzzle book is a collection of puzzles for the reader to complete. Puzzle books may contain puzzles all of simply one type like (e.g. crosswords or sudoku) or a mixture of different puzzle types. Puzzle books may be aimed for adults or children. Puzzle books can be used for many purposes such as education or purely for entertainment. Many people claim that puzzles help enhance certain brain functions in terms of memory and information processing, though these claims cannot be proven with certainty.
Crossword puzzles first appeared in England during the 19th century. The first known published crossword puzzle was created by a journalist named Arthur Wynne from Liverpool, and he is usually credited as the inventor of the popular word game. The crossword first appeared in print on December 21, 1913 in a Sunday newspaper, the ''New York World''. Wynne's first crossword varied from those widely available today in the fact that it was diamond-shaped and did not include any blacked-out blocks to make the actual puzzle more visible.1 == See also ==
